This jamb repair and reinforcement kit is constructed of steel components and comes in a white powder-coated finish. It features six easy-2-install section plates and two door edge guards, and it comes complete with 3 in. long fasteners with step-by-step installation instructions. Ultimate door jamb repair and reinforcement kit provides up to 12 gauge thickness, at a total height of 59-1/2 in. when fully installed. It is designed to replace the smaller, vulnerable latch and deadbolt strikes commonly installed with entry door hardware. The door edge guards in this kit are designed to fit on 1-3/4 in. thick doors, and the latch plate comes with optional deadbolt knock out plugs to accommodate 2 different knob-to-lock hole center spacing's. For doors hung with a large enough gap between the jamb and edge of door, these plates can be easily mounted on the surface of the door jamb, others may require the plates to be mortised into the door jamb for the best fit. The hardware included with this kit is non-handed, allowing it to be used on left or right-handed, single and double hinged door systems.
